Hearing Our Way
Sibling Spot: Jesse and Sibs
Meet five siblings from Minnesota who never let hearing loss get in the way of fun!

Older siblings Hannah, Moriah, Isaac, and Hali do not have hearing loss, but love to support their little brother, Jesse, who has a mild hearing loss and uses an Oticon Star FM system in his right ear to help him hear.
Hannah: Sometimes I have to repeat things I say to Jesse, but hearing loss doesn’t affect our relationship. We love playing cards, basketball, and watersports together.
Moriah: Jesse is such a fun and very active kid. We play kickball, tag, catch, and hide and seek together.
Isaac: My siblings and I are very close. We have fun no matter what we are doing, from cleaning the house to playing sports. I help Jesse when he doesn’t hear things the first time. I feel that his hearing loss brings us all together a little more.
Hali: I’m closest in age to Jesse, so we do a lot of things together. Even though he was diagnosed with hearing loss a few years ago, he is still the same person I know, no matter what!
Jesse: I get along well with my older siblings. Sometimes better than other times! Hearing loss never stops me from all of the activities we do together. In fact, I think in wrestling, it actually helps me because I can zone out on noise from the crowds and focus on the game.
One Last Word: We all want the best for each other in life. We love being on the farm together and hope to always share that. We want to grow up, have good lives, and always stay close.
